Minerals Help To Keep You Healthy

By: Lucy Evans

In the last 50 years, a lot of study has been undertaken to study the link between the effects that vitamin D has on cancer risks.
So in the 1950’s some scientists studied weather conditions and health statistics in warmer continents of the world to authenticate that more the sunshine, more is the supply of Vitamin D, which was the basis given for the lowest death rates from colon cancers in those continents. Many studies since then have established the existence of a positive link between vitamin D and calcium and the prevention of cancer, this can be prostate cancer right through to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This is particularly true in cases of breast cancers.

There are 2 different recently published studies with new evidence about how calcium and vitamin D prevent cancer. Scientists and researchers at Harvard University set-up tests with women who had not gone through menopause, it showed woman with elevated levels of vitamin D and calcium have a smaller possibility of developing breast cancer than women with smaller levels of these nutrients. When Harvard researchers began the second study they came to the same conclusion, and resulted that vitamin D and calcium products help with the decline of different kinds of cancer. It is with these studies being carried out that we now have knowledge and proof to comprehend the benefits of calcium and vitamin D in regards to preventing cancer.

It was Otto Warburg that won the Nobel Prize in 1932 and came up with the presumption that cancer is caused by absence of oxygen in the body. An alkaline level of pH 7.4 in the blood stream must be kept to help retain the bodies free oxygen supply. To uphold the alkaline in the body you should intake a decent amount of minerals in your daily diet, if you don’t consume enough minerals this can lead to diabetes, arthritis and other chronic diseases because of body fluids turning from alkaline to acid as they aren’t getting enough oxygen.
