Maintaining a CZ Jewelry is a mystery to many. Most owners think they are fragile and tend to let them gather dirt and muck in the fear of damaging them during cleaning. On the contrary, they are not that difficult to maintain and polish. Expensive jewelries need to be cleaned every now and then to maintain their original sparkle and magnificence, and the same thing applies to cubic zirconia jewelries. A lot of things contribute to the dulling of our jewelries, simple everyday things like soap, dust, moisturizers and even sweat. When soap or moisturizers are used, it will turn your jewelry to look dull and restoration will usually be difficult. You don't need any special equipment to clean your CZ jewelry, an old toothbrush is the best choice. You will also need a spoonful of ordinary liquid detergent or dishwashing solution diluted in warm water. Immerse the item in the solution and brush gently, wash it well and dry with a soft cotton cloth. If some of the buildup was left behind, mix a stronger detergent and immerse the jewelry in it for 10 to 15 minutes and brush again. Some other alternative is use toothpaste and baking soda and cover the jewelry for 15 minutes, wet your old toothbrush and gently brush the jewelry piece, continue doing this until you reach a good lather. After this process, rinse the item in running water while brushing gently to remove the suds. You will notice that your jewelry has regained its old glory. Don't expose your CZ jewelry to abrasive substances like bleach or ammonia when cleaning. When swimming in chlorinated water remove your piece, as the chemicals can damage your jewelry. Although most cleansers available in the market will not destroy your CZ stone, they will, however, remove the brilliance and magnificence of the metal in which the stone is set. Jewelry experts can agree that CZ comes closer than any other gem material to matching the characteristics of a diamond. As CZ is quickly becoming more popular as a desirable substitute for diamond, the care and attention it should get should be the same way you would do for a diamond. So if for some reason you cannot remove the dirt off your CZ jewelry, bring it to a jeweller and have it cleaned with a high-pressure steam, as would be done to a diamond. This is a surefire solution to remove any scum off your jewelry. When we clean a customer's jewelry and inspect it for wear or missing stones, persistent dirt is always the outcome of irregular cleaning by the owner. This results to abrasive wear and finally, possibly a loose stone. One of the most basic rules of jewelry care is to apply all lotions, make-up, hair spray, etc. first, before you put on your jewelry. To avoid unnecessarily damaging or scratching your piece, store your jewelry either in a cloth pouch or stored in a compartment of its own in your jewelry box. Maintaining the look of your CZ jewelry is just simply cleaning them regularly. When you use your jewelry for daily wear, cleaning it once a week is sufficient.
